| Are the performance issues on the PS4 making events more difficult? Posted: 18 Nov 2020 06:19 PM PST Ever since the Inner Drive update the game has had performance issues that only affect some accounts (accounts with high Icon level, as far as I know). Frame rate issues, mini-freezes, long loading times, etc. I think that these issues are making events more difficult. For example, sometimes the game freezes completely for a few seconds when I start an Escape skill (or any other skill). The thing is, the game is only frozen on my end while the Escape skill starts and goes on on the server side. Often the zone catches me while my game is still frozen and my car hasn't even moved yet. So while the bad performance slows you down, it's not affecting the zone. I would assume that the same goes for the timer in races. That it's server side and isn't affected by the stutters and freezes on your end. That would explain a lot of things. Like why the Summit scores on PC are always so good even though the playerbase is much smaller than on the PS4. I tend to look at a Summit guide on youtube and there have been many times when I could swear that I drove better in an Escape skill and still couldn't reach the distance the PC player did in the video. As if the zone is catching up faster. I also noticed that the minimum Plat score for last week's Summit on PS4 was higher than it usually is. I think it was higher than it's ever been (correct me if I'm wrong) and I didn't understand why since there have been more desirable reward cars than the RX-8 repeat. Then I remembered that the PS5 is out in some parts of the world and it runs the game without any performance issues. Are there anyone here who had these performance issues on PS4 and tried this game on PS5? Have you noticed events/Summit being easier? [link] [comments] | ||
